Chisikwa Mwenje STUDIO
Chisikwa is what is formed.
Mwenje is the light that allows it to exist.
Each piece is a moment of becoming —
free, unfinished, and honest.
I do not aim to explain.
I allow the work to be seen.
I work with mixed media, following mood and material rather than a fixed style.
My Inspiration
My practice moves between abstraction and figuration, using paint, plaster, and stitched surfaces depending on what the work asks for.
I am interested in texture, surface, and process. Sewing, layering, and building become ways of responding to the work slowly and with care.
Each piece is made through listening and attention, allowing space for quiet reflection rather than clear answers.
